Moviegoers first learned about this skyscraper through the movie An Unforgettable Affair. Its main characters agreed to meet on the roof of the Empire State Building after they met on a cruise ship. Since then, this place has been very popular for meetings.

It’s also impossible to forget the huge success of King Kong, which made the Empire State Building famous around the world. It is always noisy, crowded and bright. There are a lot of people, advertising banners, signs and shops… It seems that the active rhythm of life never stops here.

The following movies were filmed in Times Square, Taxi Driver, Date Night, Captain America, Spider-Man and Vanilla Sky. For the filming of the latter movie, this street was closed for the first time ever. To shoot the scene where actor Tom Cruise walks alone on the road with no people or cars, they had to pay USD 1 million. The cameramen also took other shots here, such as yellow taxis driving by, lovers meeting, flying in the air above skyscrapers and much more. All these shots became an ad for Times Square for moviegoers around the world.

Central Park

It’s not only a great place to relax but also a movie set. Many filmmakers prefer to shoot movies here because of the many picturesque views of NYC’s infrastructure and nature. Besides, it is the only green area in Manhattan.

The first film shoot in Central Park took place in 1908. Back then, the movie Romeo and Juliet was filmed here. Later, this area became a place for filming other movies. Moviegoers will recognize Central Park’s paths and benches in Kramer vs. Kramer and Maid in Manhattan, the beautiful Bethesda Fountain in Enchanted and the Wollman Rink in the romantic shots of Intuition and Love Story.

The Plaza Hotel

The history of the oldest and most luxurious hotel in Manhattan holds many interesting events and facts about tourists and movie stars. Also, the luxurious halls of this hotel became the scene of a battle between two friends from the movie Bride Wars. The protagonist of The Family Man, Hollywood celebrities the Olsen sisters from the movie New York Minute and Macaulay Culkin, who became the main character of the New Year’s comedy Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, also stayed here. Their characters met here, solved mysteries, stopped trains, organized spy pursuits and found love.

For example, in the movie Before We Go, fate brought together two strangers at a central station who soon became a couple in love. This happened after a girl, Brooke, missed the last train at night and became a victim of a robbery. Fortunately, a young man named Nick was passing by and helped her in a difficult situation. At the time, neither of them could imagine that they would have an affair. Director Shawn Levy’s idea to bring the museum’s exhibits to life helped create a fascinating fantasy movie.
